:-::---:=._ Needles - Needles for sewing were among
            a pioneer woman's important possessions.

They were sold at the local trading post and kept
in a safe place in the cabin.

                  Spinning Wheel - A spinning wheel
                  spun strands of wool and flax into
heavy thread or yarn. The yarn was woven into
cloth on a loom.

                         Oak kegs - Kegs made of oak slats
                        were used to store liquids. The
liquid would be absorbed into the wood which
would then swell. The swelling wood sealed the
gaps between the slats.
