Post Visit Activities
After your visit to Copshaholm and the Copshaholm Exhibit
1. Have students draw pictures of how Copshaholm might have looked when it was
first built. Share the pictures.
2. After visiting Copshaholm, lead a class discussion on the types of furniture,
sculpture, and other artifacts that you saw on your tour. How are some of these
things similar to and different from things similar to and different from things that
we have today?
3. Write a class poem. Students contribute lines or words describing what they
have seen, smelled, heard, etc. on their tour. Send a copy to the Northern
Indiana Center for History Education Department.
4. Encourage students to imagine that the walls of Copshaholm could talk. What
would they tell us? What changes have they seen? Have students write stories
from the perspective of this old house.
5. Students may be encouraged to imagine what houses in the future will be like.
Have students write stories about or draw pictures of a house in the future.
Share the stories or pictures.
