School Program – Kluckers

April 3, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm EDT

In this special museum theater event for schools, students and teachers will see the play Kluckers, which tells the rich and brave story of Boyd Gurley. As editor of the Indianapolis Times in the 1920s, Gurley’s fierce reporting against the KKK at a time when its membership was higher than ever exposed the corruption within the Klan and its interwoven relationship with Indiana politicians, leading to the demise of the radical hate group. Under Gurley’s leadership for this work, the newspaper won a Pulitzer Prize in 1928. Kluckers is an original piece written by local playwright James Geisel. After the play, students will tour the exhibit RESIST! How Notre Dame Students Defeated the Klan. To schedule a tour, contact
