Mod Mystique: 1960s Fashion
There were the trends: miniskirts and pillbox hats, a la Jackie Kennedy. There were the designers: Givenchy and Oscar de la Renta. There were the happenings: Woodstock and London’s mod look. It all blended to launch one of the most vogue decades of all time. Over 20 pieces of fashion from the 1960s—all from The History Museum’s historic clothing collection—will be on view in The History Museum’s Oliver Mansion.
Tiffany: Luminous Masterworks
Over 50 objects are showcased in Tiffany: Luminous Masterworks. The centerpiece of the exhibit features 25 exquisite works by glass artist Louis Comfort Tiffany, including stained glass windows, lamps, vases, and pottery—all from the Wester Collection.

A new exhibit at The History Museum celebrates 120 years of architecture at the University of Notre Dame. Commitment, Continuity, and Community: Architecture at Notre Dame, 1898 – present, a partnership effort of The History Museum and the University of Notre Dame’s School of Architecture and Architecture Library, is on view in the museum’s Ernestine M. Raclin Gallery of Notre Dame History through August 5, 2018.
Voyageurs: French Exploration of the New World

But following the 1492 voyage of Christopher Columbus, they came—they rushed—to claim land for their countries. French voyageurs worked for fur companies to transport goods to and from the New World’s trading posts.
