Annual Fund

Look behind any activity at The History Museum – whether in the museum galleries, the auditorium, Copshaholm, the historic gardens – and you will find different kinds of gifts at work, helping the museum to flourish each day. The most important effort to acquire gifts is the Annual Fund Campaign.

Gifts to the Annual Fund help sustain daily operations and support The History Museum in the here and now. They provide flexible, immediate funding to support the everyday upkeep of collections, facilities, and grounds; permanent and changing exhibits; programs presented to the community and to school children; and the support of museum staff.

The Annual Fund accounts for approximately 5% of The History Museum’s annual operating budget. Although seemingly a small portion, the impact of gifts made to the Annual Fund cannot be overstated. Imagine five percent missing from the budget designated to present programs to school children, to acquire artifacts for a major exhibit, or to keep the lights and heat on. The Annual Fund is, therefore, a priority of The History Museum’s strategic plan. Our goal is to increase the resources at the museum’s disposal each year to respond effectively to the needs that arise. Gifts to the Annual Fund can be put to work immediately.

Our Annual Fund Campaign generally takes place in November and December, but contributions are gratefully accepted throughout the year.
